A & P Richardson guitars were totally hand made with only a band saw, router, hand plane, pillar drill and a few hand tools. PRguitars are still hand crafted with all the same care and attention to detail but now I have a few machines to help the process.

(Left to right) band saw, dust extractor, belt-disc sander (in corner), router cutters, bobbin sander and drum sander.

The pin router table I made which is used for guitar bodies, necks and scratch plates, works very well with all my router jigs.

The fret slotting machine I made which is very safe and 100% accurate.

Wood that is kept in a controlled environment @50% humidity awaiting machining into guitar bodies and necks.

Some wood machined into guitar bodies, bass wings and necks.

Guitar necks ready for two-way truss rods and fingerboards.

Padauk for a DCR guitar body which has been put through the thickness planer.

The wood has been cut in half and then glued together.

The guitar body is ready for the drum sander.

The shape is now cut out with the band saw.

Jigs are used on the pin router and is now ready for all the hand work to be done.

Padauk neck with Padauk fingerboard and M.O.P front and side dots.

Hand carving a DCR neck with a Indian Rosewood fingerboard.

So there you have a small tour of the workshop and how I make the guitars and basses, still very much hand crafted.
