My brother (Alan Richardson) and I have been playing guitar and bass since we were seven years old, it was my dad (Bill Richardson) that started us off.  When my brother and I were younger we always saw my dad going out to gigs with his three piece band, we were always around music, guitars and amps. When we did start playing we both started off on the six string guitar but I decided the bass was the instrument I really wanted to play.

As for our musical tastes we liked to listen to rock music the likes of AC/DC, Kiss, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Boston, Chicago, Status Quo, Queen and The Police just to name a few, as we got older and our playing ability progressed we started looking for more influential music; Van Halen, Rush, Toto, Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Super Tramp, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, and many more and that started me off wanting to learn how to play the Keyboards which I did.

Our musical tastes became more open in the eighties and we were listening to Nik Kershaw, Howard Jones, Level 42, Thomas Dolby, The Tubes, Asia, The Buggles, Quarterflash, Wang Chung, Journey, Survivor, Dan Reed, Winger, Hall and Oates, Earth Wind & Fire, Foreigner, Steve Lukather, Honeymoon Suite, Living Colour, Living In A Box, Michael Jackson, Missing Persons, Mr. Mister, Paul McCartney, Prince, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Roachford, Starship, Stevie Nicks, Saga, Live, Tears For Fears, Foo Fighters and many more.

I have to say my biggest influence would have to be Geddy Lee (Rush) who in my eye’s is the most inspirational bass player there is, his style and feel are second to none, that’s what also made me want to play the keyboards. There are so many more I could list, don’t forget Chris Squire (Yes) the Ricky sound, and there’s some amazing bass players you wouldn’t think of Ray Shulman (Gentle Giant) check out how good Ray is. As well as being the worlds best record producer, Trevor Horn.

Alan’s main influence would be Steve Lukather (TOTO) what can you say about a man that is a total ‘legend’  There’s also Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen) and the man with the feel David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) and another big inspirational guitarist has to be Alex Lifeson (Rush) what a sound and playing style. There’s so many more Steve Via, Neil Schon and so on.

We’ve been recording music since the early eighties and most of that has been instrumentals,

We got sick of just doing instrumentals and wanted to write songs. We couldn’t find a singer we liked so with reluctance I thought I would try (what a laugh), obviously I didn’t like my singing but I stuck with it and now I kind of don’t mind it.
